1965
The Start of Sawai
Our founder, Mr. Sawailal Jain set up the first hydro-distillation plant for the production of natural attars, in the perfume city of India; Kannauj. He later went on to expand the plant with a Steam-distillation unit in the years that followed.
1980
Setting Roots
It was the 2nd generation of the late Mr. Sawailal Jain that further build his dream. They set the foundation with manufacturing of essential oils through steam distillation and incepted a manufacturing unit in Vasai.
1984
Going International
The minds behind the business began international strategy which led to its rapid growth in the creative fragrance industry. To support the natural essential oil business, new developments of fractional distillation processes were set up in Silvassa.
1989
New Establishments
By this time a huge chunk of the Indian fragrance market was captured which led to further developments most notably, the set up of a 5 acre fine fragrance factory in Silvassa.
2000
Booming Business
A unit catering to the harvest and extraction of flowers such as Jasmine, Champaca, and Lotus through solvent extraction, was set up in Nilakkottai, Tamil Nadu. During the same time, a CO2 extraction unit was also developed and; land for the cultivation and oil extraction of vetiver and geranium was purchased.
2012
Further Developments
A state-of- the-art development centre and an Automatic Blending unit was installed in Sachin, Surat to further improve the efficiency and cater to a growing client base.
2016
Diversification
We’ve come a long way from essential oils to a diverse range of products catering to the needs of clients across industries.
2017
Sawai Fragrances
In order to set the pace for enhanced market presence and further growth, the founders commenced the process of rebranding all the businesses in the Jain group under the name of ‘Sawai Fragrances’.
