At Sawai, leadership is guided by a clear purpose: to create fragrances with discipline, integrity, and consistency, while building partnerships that endure. Quality is not an objective we pursue, it is the principle that shapes how we work, how we source, and how we manufacture.
As the industry has evolved, so have we. We have strengthened our systems, adopted modern technologies, and expanded our capabilities across markets. Yet through every phase of growth, our approach has remained steady, disciplined execution, precision in process, and accountability in delivery.
Sawai's leadership reflects a journey shaped by three generations, each reinforcing the same values of consistency, responsibility, and long-term thinking. Together, they ensure that as we modernise and scale, the standards that built Sawai remain uncompromised.
In the heart of Kannauj, Mr. Sawailal Jain planted more than a business, he planted a belief. A belief that the timeless art of Indian attars deserved to be experienced across the world. With one hydro-distillation unit and an unwavering vision, he transformed a traditional craft into a purposeful enterprise. This was the spark that lit a legacy, rooted in integrity, built with hands, and carried by heart.
Under his guidance, the business grew steadily, refining its expertise in attars and natural oils. This was a decade of patience and quiet determination. The roots of Sawai were not just planted, they were nurtured with care and conviction.
This was the time when Mr. Prabhat Jain (second generation) joined the business and set Sawai on a new path. He established the company’s first office at Princess Street, Mumbai, opening doors to larger markets, and introduced steam distillation in Kannauj, strengthening Sawai’s production capabilities and expanding its range of natural oils.
Guided by Mr. Prabhat Jain’s entrepreneurial spirit, Sawai secured its first international order. Hand-packed fragrances travelled to the Gulf, carrying with them the scent of Kannauj and the aspirations of a growing company. This was the moment a local craft became a global story.
As demand grew, Mr. Prabhat Jain expanded Sawai’s manufacturing capabilities with a 5-acre facility in Silvassa, equipped with fractional distillation. This was not just operational growth it was a visionary step that built the industrial backbone for decades to come.
With a clear eye on the future, Mr. Prabhat Jain guided Sawai into a new era of capability. The company ventured into floral solvent extraction in Tamil Nadu and added CO₂ extraction facilities, along with land for vetiver and geranium cultivation. These strategic investments strengthened Sawai’s position as a trusted fragrance partner to brands across categories, both in India and internationally.
To match its growing scale, Sawai established a state-of-the-art blending and development centre in Surat. This marked a decisive shift from being an ingredient supplier to becoming a fragrance creation partner, a move that blended craftsmanship with innovation.
When Mr. Pushkar Jain (third generation) stepped into leadership, he saw Sawai not as separate entities, but as one powerful, interconnected group.Bringing all ventures under the single name Sawai Fragrances was both a strategic and visionary move, creating a unified identity, sharper market positioning, and a stronger platform for global growth. This was the beginning of a new era of structure, scale, and ambition.
Under his leadership, Sawai continues to grow with clarity of direction and strength of purpose. With a unified brand, a focused strategy, and a global outlook, the company is expanding its reach while staying anchored to its legacy of craft and integrity. The launch of Merve Fragrances marks a new chapter that reflects Sawai’s modern vision for a global audience. Every step today reflects the same spirit that built this company to dream boldly, build wisely, and grow meaningfully.
To be a global fragrance partner defined not only by capability, but by character. We believe in creativity rooted in craft, innovation guided by discipline, and growth anchored in integrity. As we evolve across markets and generations, our purpose remains unchanged: to deliver fragrances that inspire emotion, earn trust, and stand the test of time.
